Paper Wicks – from ancient rome to the present day
Paper wicks were widely used in ancient Rome, although obviously the material used was not exactly the same as the paper introduced from the east much later. These were changed for cotton fabrics as they significantly reduced the production of smoke when burned. With the modern techniques used by Mechas Plá, this problem has been eliminated, and they can be used with peace of mind and without bothersome smoke.
